The T-28 Trojan is a training aircraft and light ground attack aircraft that was developed as a training aircraft in the 1940s. At the beginning of the 1950s, series production began with the 588 kW seven-cylinder radial engine Wright R-1300-1A and two-blade propeller. A total of 1194 units of this version were produced, before the further development T-28B with the more powerful Wright R-1820-26 engine with 1047 kW of power and a three-blade propeller was introduced from 1954 onwards. Later, there were various variants. For example, the T-28C, which used the same engine as the T-28B and was also suitable for aircraft carriers thanks to the reinforced rear fuselage, brake flaps and catch hooks. It had its maiden flight on September 19, 1955 and was built in 299 units until 1957. The T-28D Nomad (also AT-28) was a modified A-version with a Wright R-1820-56S engine and six underwing stations for up to 1814 kg of weapon load, which was intended to serve various COIN missions.
The T-28 Trojan in the Amewi Edition is a scale replica of this well-known US aircraft with a true-to-the-original livery and combines perfect flight characteristics (6G for beginners, 3D for advanced aircraft) with state-of-the-art technology. The model is controlled over all axes (transverse, height, side, motor) and is self-stabilizing in 6G mode. (Gyro) This stabilization also prevents the model from slipping over and only allows a limited angle of the model. Looping, rolling, or inverted flight are not possible in this setting. If you switch the model to 3D mode using the high-quality 2.4GHz transmitter, the model is suitable for dynamic aerobatics and allows all standard figures such as loops, rolls, etc. without any problems. Should something go wrong. If the model can be switched back to 6G mode at the push of a button and the model would immediately return to a stable flight attitude (rescue function) in addition to all these features, the model is equipped with a receiver board that allows operation with e.g. Futaba or other 5V S-Bus receivers or DSM receivers with a 3V output. Thus, the model is not dependent on the included transmitter and it can be used with an existing transmitter.
